Abigail Sykes is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in health and fitness and pediatric nutrition. After graduating from Gordon College with a B.A. in Gender & Justice in the Developing World, Abigail discovered her love of nutrition and realized how building a positive relationship with food enhances a person's overall growth, confidence, and well-being. Abigail graduated from Simmons College with a M.S. in Nutrition and Health Promotion and a Certificate in Sports Nutrition, where she was awarded the Simmons College Nutrition and Health Promotion Outstanding Achievement Award.
Abigail works with children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings, from public schools on the North Shore of Massachusetts and the YMCA to in-home or virtual sessions. One of her recent projects has been the development and implementation of Hooray for Health, a hands-on nutrition and health education program for elementary students. The program expanded this year with funding from the Beverly Education Foundation and the Hannah Elementary PTO. Abigail is a member of the Health and Wellness Advisory Committee for Beverly Public Schools. She also teaches Healthy Weight Loss classes for adults at the YMCA of the North Shore and meets with clients individually.
As a mom of two, Abigail understands many of the challenges facing busy families and picky eating firsthand. Abigail also loves to play the violin in local groups and orchestras.
